ParticipantHi there,
thanks a lot for this lesson. I have just started working on the basic melody line.
My question is whether it has to be be all down picks as I have tried to alternate pick and have
found it a bit more intuitive (for me). Does it have any downsides (from a rhythmic point of view e.g.) to alternate pick instead of using all down picks?Cheers Tom

ParticipantHi there,
I have experienced exactly what Mike says in the lesson. Apart from learning the scales, it is good warm-up and exercise.
I struggled with the exact timing and accenting of a boogie rhythm the other week. After playing the scales in up-down picking a couple of times this morning, I have given the boogie another go and have got it right immediatley.Cheers Tom

ParticipantHi there,
it might be worth mentioning that the G7 Capos can be a good alternative as they are still quite small and come with an interior mechanism which allows to adjust the pressure on the strings. Additionally they are manufactured in a way to avoid scratches on the neck. After buying one of them recently, I have given away my other capos. They are more expensive than the capos presented in the video, but I would say they are worth the extra money.
Cheers Tom
