ParticipantHi Mike I consider myself to be an advanced/intermediate level banjo student and have studied with a lot of pro teachers over the past 18 years and wanted to offer some positive feedback and some constructive criticism on this lesson. The solo is a great lesson and an easy lesson for beginners to follow. But the backup lesson you totally lost me. You move around a lot, constantly talking very fast without really explaining things. In essence just a bunch of banjo noise. Please don’t be offended by my comments they are offered up as helpful friendly advice from a seasoned student eager to learn.
As a former Radio Operator and Military Training Instructor with the British Army I was taught about the clarity of verbal communications and the use of this phonetic phrase. R.S.V.P. Rhythm Speed Volume Pitch to help others clearly understand my voice when communicating instructions over the airwaves, barking orders on the drill square or on the live firing ranges. Where it is essential that nervous recruits must be controlled in a safe environment when using live ammunition for the very first time.
I ask that you revisit the backup lesson and watch and listen. Ask yourself did you communicate your message in a clear and concise manner so that others watching fully understand the instructions you wanted to share.
